Nokia 3310 released in Pakistan, potential buyers disgusted with the horrendous price tag!

The legendary phone from Nokia has finally hit the shelves in Pakistan following its release in India and other parts of the world. Yes, it is the Nokia 3310 with SNAKES and the solid battery life that countless people in Pakistan have been looking forward to grab. BUT the horrible price tag was something that people were not expecting. For a basic phone, the price of the device at around RS. 6,500 is indeed too much! And what do you get paying this amount? Here are the specs of Nokia 3310:

  • 2.4” with 240p resolution and a curved display with polarized layer for better readability in sunlight
  • 2 MP camera with LED flash
  • 16 MB internal storage along which can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot with support up to 32 GB
  • 1,200 mAh Battery, offering up to 22 hours talk time and a standby time of a month
  • FM radio and MP3 player
  • Nokia Series 30+ Operating system

While these specs are fair for a basic phone, the device is much over priced for an average buyer in Pakistan. Many potential buyers who had made up their mind to get their hands on one have changed their decision since they think that Nokia 3310 should have been around Rs. 4,000. Some are even considering boycotting the phone because of the hefty price tag!

An infuriated potential buyer reacted after learning about the price of Nokia 3310, “When you can get the basic phones such as those from Qmobile and others out there why spend 3 times more just for Snakes!”

“The phone should have been under Rs. 5000 at least!” Another one exclaimed. The price of Nokia 3310 broke many hearts who have been closely following the release of the phone and have been waiting anxiously to relive it once again.

With such reactions from the Pakistanis, what is the future of Nokia 3310 in the country? Will Nokia reconsider the cost? Are you willing to buy one of these small colorful packages at Rs. 6,500? Share your comments below.
