Google joining hands with Xiaomi to spread Its ARCore Tech

According to a new report, Google is joining hands with Xiaomi to expand the reach of its ARCore technology in emerging markets. As per the partnership, Google will offer  its ARCore platform in China where Google Play Store does not operate. Xiaomi will extend Google’s ARCore in China via its app store.

Google came up with ARCore in order to provide augmented reality and virtual reality features to a plethora of Android devices.

ARCore technology will allow a device to enjoy advanced AR features such as light estimation, motion tracking, environment understanding, etc.

So far this tech was only available on Google Pixel devices in addition to some other Android phones. Now Google together with Xiaomi will extend this tech to Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2s. Google confirmed that they will be partnering with more firms for AR experiences.
