‘Angel Stone’ – An Ordinary Fantasy RPG with EXTRAORDINARY Visuals

angel stone

Inviting players to join a revolution against grotesque monsters and other such things that go bump in the night, Angel Stone by Fincon is an aesthetically appealing, high fantasy adventure game. The Angel Stone app is exceptional in that the same player account can be accessed through Android, iOS as well as Facebook at the same time.

Endless Fun

A wonderful addition to the free to play cross-platform RPG world, AS gives players the choice to pick between a Berserker, Shadow Mage, or Gunslinger. The Gunslinger, in particular, is a highly interesting choice as it gives a steampunk feel to an already tricky and beautiful fantasy world. Besides, it is a choice that is not available in other similar adventure games. These small variances give AS its charisma, as it is otherwise a usual fantasy RPG. Players can fight their way through several terrains to level up their character and his or her particular skill set. Armour and other items can be upgraded at the blacksmith with collectables such as iron ore and mythril. While AS isn’t innovative on these fronts, it undeniably presents itself well, both technically and visually.

Game Play

The game’s play mechanics are pretty intuitive. It plays a lot like other RPG adventure games, with regular movement and attack buttons and “special skills” accessible with the click/tap of an icon on the side of the screen. The battle mechanics and level advancement are easy, efficient, and a lot of fun.

Menu System

The primary menu system, where you will find weapons, friend requests, your mailbox, and armour upgrades, and more, seems to be a little intricate. It feels as if you are forced to click through 2-3 more icons or tabs that is essential. You will spend much time flipping to-and-from a number of meta pages to collect log-in bonuses, send or receive friend requests, and sorting through the tangled knot of blacksmith/upgrade tabs. The item upgrading system could go for some tightening up as well, as it can really drag on if you have multiple items you wish to upgrade and plenty of iron ore with which to do so. Items are enhanced one level at a time, so to go through the same 5-6 button process can get really old, really fast.

What’s Interesting?

Other than being a free app that is worth checking out, Angel Stone does have much to offer. The game is extremely liberal with dishing out in-game “currency” (gold, gems, and stamina); no need to worry about needing in-app purchases or getting stuck waiting for game attributes to refresh in real-time.

Playing as a Gunslinger can be great when the typical Mage/Warrior/Rogue dynamic starts to feel a little dull. But for those who have a RPG niche, the Berserker or Shadow Mage are just as pleasing to play. Since you can have multiple characters, why not enjoy them all?

A Visual Feast

I would recommend the game mainly on the artistic excellence and character design. The care and detail of the game developers is fixed into every blade of grass and tongue of flame.

Try it out on your PC through Facebook since the graphics and art really are superb and deserve a closer look than a smartphone can offer sometimes.
