Microsoft stepped back from launching VR for Xbox One

Despite of Microsoft announcement regarding the launch of VR headset for Xbox One, company has now confirmed that it has abandoned its plans.

In recent years, VR headsets sales has gone down due to the requirement of advanced PCs and heavy hardware of the device. Smartphone based VR headsets attracted the customers and showed growth in sales but figures are not enough to satisfy investors for Microsoft’s new project.

However, Microsoft is doing something better. It has planned to launch cheaper Windows Mixed Reality headset together with OEMs. These headsets will not require high-end PCs and will be more attractive for everyday users. Microsoft is considering VR as a coming computing platform and also updating Windows 10 to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
